RECIPE EXPERIMENTS: BBQ Pulled Pork Waffle Fry Nachos

KQ host Mitch Hightower and partner Chef Philip created a mash-up appetizer sure to please.

A crispy sweet potato waffle fry serves as the vehicle for this yummy hors d'oeuvre. Next, nacho toppings are added including refried beans, cheese, onion and jalapeno peppers. And on top of all of those tasty ingredients is a small pile of pulled pork smothered in barbecue sauce!

This is serious party food. Look for this recipe in an upcoming KQ Season 4 video.

RECIPE EXPERIMENTS: Potato Blini

Kitchen Queers partner Chef Philip used the pulp we scooped out of baked potatoes, (when we made potato skins), to create a batter for potato blini.  These golden brown potato pancakes were served with sour cream and bias cut scallions.  Yummy!

RECIPE EXPERIMENTS: Bacon Cheese Potato Skins

Above: The KQ thrice-baked potato skin topped with sour cream and chopped scallions.

RECIPE EXPERIMENTS: Bacon Cheese Potato Skins

KQ host Mitch Hightower and partner Chef Philip worked together on this delicious treat.  The potato is first baked, then cooled.  The interior of the potato is scooped out, (and set aside for another recipe), and the spuds are baked for a second time.  Then, the potato shells are filled with chopped onion, diced jalapeno pepper, crispy bacon lardon and topped with grated cheese.  Back in the oven to bake a third time and then these tasty treats are ready to serve.

Bacon Cheese Potato Skins are a great #GameDay appetizer!
