New Cocktail Test: Pink Margarita

We retooled the classic Tequila Sunrise, by shaking it with ice and serving it "martini style".  You can let the grenadine float at the bottom, or stir the cocktail after pouring to create a vibrant and colorful drink.

Check out the photo tutorial for the Tequini Sunrise here:

If you've been following KQ then you likely already know we are fans of serving drinks Martini style even when they don't contain Martini ingredients.  The Pink Raspberry Tequini features silver tequila and is the perfect pink drink for a pink Pride celebration.

You likely know from reading this BLOG that I'm a big fan of silver tequila.  I also like bold and brightly colored cocktails.  This mix is a great tasting tequila drink, and the intense color makes it perfect when you need a pink Signature Cocktail.

Check out the tutorial on how to mix this cocktail here:

TEQUILA: Why Silver is Better Than Gold

TEQUILA: Why Silver is Better Than Gold
by Chef Mitch

When we think of precious metals we usually associate more value with gold than silver.

But the same isn't always true for tequila.  Unless the tequila is very high-end, aged tequila, the gold color you find in the more common brands is created by adding caramel to the mix.  Not only does this change the color to golden hues, it also adds a significant amount of sugar and creates an oily consistency.  This is why gold tequila hangovers are so nasty.

Silver tequila, even lower-end brands will give you more natural tequila, (agave), flavor.

In this posting you'll find three of my favorite tequila cocktails.  They're easy to make and the bold colors create a great presentation for a party or other event.

Cheers!
