KQ host Mitch Hightower demonstrates the Kitchen Queers recipe for Bacon Bang Bang Pinwheels.  Described as a "savory pastry roll", this appetizer is created using puff pastry filled with bacon, cheese, jalapeno pepper, onion and sweet-n-spicy bang bang sauce.  KQ partner chef Philip appears as the guest taste tester for Season 4, Episode 14, Number 74, (S4E14N74-HD).

RECIPE EXPERIMENTS: Bacon Bang Bang Pinwheels

KQ partner Chef Philip came up with this new creation. He slathered puff pastry with Bang Bang Sauce, then added crispy bacon, diced onions and jalapeno peppers, along with grated pepper jack cheese. These beauties baked up golden brown and very flaky.

The Bacon Bang Bang Pinwheels were a big hit at the preliminary taste test and all of the samples were gobbled up in no time.

Look for this recipe to be featured in an episode of KQ very soon!

KQ host Mitch Hightower baked another batch of RAINBOW PALMIERS, and we're pleased to report this round is much more aesthetically pleasing than the first. Look for this recipe to be featured in an upcoming Kitchen Queers Season 4 video.

Below: Six colors of sanding sugar were used for the RAINBOW PALMIERS.

Above: For the second test bake, half of the dough was rolled up and cut into "swirl" style cookies.

In preparation for an upcoming KQ video, today we made Rainbow Palmiers. We need to perfect our rolling/folding technique regarding the puff pastry dough so that the end results are more aesthetically pleasing. Otherwise, they taste great!

Chef Philip and I used puff pastry to create these easy-to-make pizza pies.  We made two versions, one with pepperoni and cheese and the other with sausage and cheese. Review the recipe and photo tutorial here:
